[ it sure has been an exciting weekend, huh? being the surprise sixth body apparently hasn't taken its toll on him at all because he's out and about already looking for entertainment that's a little less murderous.

he, at least, beams when he sees Firefly and holds up a hand in hello. for all that he's had to deal with a short angry poltergeist cucked from his prize, he seems to not hold it against her. ]

It's wonderful what a bit of adventure does for the soul.

That's part of why I enjoy traveling.

It's been the one upside to all this nonsense. Getting to see so many different things while we're here.

Maker knows I'd simply start climbing the walls were we stuck in one place the whole time.

There are so many different gates here too. Do you have a favorite place here?

It's tough for a traveler to stay in one place for too long.

Anything that gets me out for a bit. Though, I must say the candy trees have been quite fun.

It's better than wondering if I'd end up on a little journey of my own in the midst of all this, and apparently horrifically traumatized.

Is that what you expected the afterlife to be? Something horrific?

The fade- our worlds afterlife is.... well, I suppose unkind is a good way to put it. So to experience something far kinder-

[ well. to a point ]

It's a bit of a surprise.

... It's mostly kinder. This is more "myself" than I thought death would be. Minus all the possession and temptations.

Yeah? I take it you must have expected something different as well.

I didn't really have a concept of an afterlife. I thought it would just be the end of "me".

[nonmagicuser]

Turns out 'the end' is really more of an idea than a true farewell.

While we're still here, we should try to enjoy it.

Reasons I've taken to wandering. Where else will you find a forest made out of candy outside some child's dream?

Even sweet dreams aren't so literal. The candy trees are pretty fun.

'Sweet Dreams'? Something tells me that's not as literal as a candy village.

Oh, no it's a place in Penacony. The Sweet Dream is administrated by the Family.

Is is literally a dream, you have to be asleep to enter it.

[ goes through about three levels of internal grief ]

I don't even know if I should be surprised somebody's managed to harness such a thing. You couldn't pay me enough gold to willingly enter the realm of dreams and nightmares.

[ unwillingly though... ]

It's mostly good dreams... But I don't usually sleep or dream, so it's painful for me to enter.

That's a first. The painful bit, I've heard of others who don't dre- you don't sleep either?

[ WAIT HOLD ON A MINUTE HERE- ]

No? I just need a few moments of rest and then I'm full of energy.

I- well, not entirely. Those who don't have a connection to the fade don't dream. The only ones I know offhand who are like that are dwarves.

Though I'm very well aware they do like their sleep though.

Being able to dream is... Tied to your species? I've never heard of that before.

Either tied to your specices or tied to your ability to access the fades magic. I'm not nearly enough of a scholar on the subject to go that deeply into the matter however.
