Well. I didn't have the best role models. My father was never in the picture and my mother died when I had just become an adult. But I like to think they were proud of me.

They did have two fathers too, since Concord and I both raised them. Between the two of us, I think we got things right.

I never thought I was one for settling down. I was perfectly happy spending my time doing whatever I wanted, whenever I wanted. I may not look like it now, but I used to be quite the troublemaker.
But Concord...he changed me. He was stubborn to a fault and I could never talk him out of whatever silly ideas he got in his head. He was never good at making educated decisions either, he would just rush into danger once he heard of the trouble. But despite that, he was the ideal image of altruism. Every cent he earned went to those who needed it more. He would give you the shirt off of his back if you asked. Hell, he gave his blood to a vampire once because, in his words, "I have so much of it, I can spare some."
[He makes his voice a bit deeper at the end, as if to mimic Concord's voice. But then he sighs and drops back to his usual voice.]
I don't know what he ever saw in someone like me, but...I'm glad for it. Just being around him made me want to be better. It still makes me want to be better.
It makes me wonder just how many are the same all over.
[He wonders how many people fear dragons because of these stories.]
But regardless, in unicorn form Concord is 18 hands tall and isn't shy about trampling anyone who poses a danger to our country. He's a war horse as much as he is a unicorn.

With that size, I'd feel rather well protected myself. Even a Qunari wouldn't stand a chance.
