You've got it. I didn't have much of a choice unless I wanted to watch Anders become a symbol. He might have made choices I don't agree with but even he doesn't deserve to be martyred.

Did killing him achieve what you were hoping it would?

Hardly. The war still happened. The mages still ended up not quite as free as they wished. Plenty still blamed myself for allowing it to happen in the first place. No... the only thing it seems to achieve was bringing him mercy.

When things are bad, even one more person saved is better than nothing.

But the war is over now? How did things change?

Well. The mages are conscripted to the Inquisition now. I believe there was something about enslaving themselves to Tevinter and getting the lot of them thrown out of Ferelden? Varric was a bit sparce on that information, quite honestly. "It's a right mess" could mean so many things.

The Chantry is all but destroyed so maker help them, the templars have gone rogue and joined the latest world ending disaster along with the grey wardens in every bad decision you could choose.
