[ immediately looks so tired. dan might grow on a person like an unwanted aggressive weed but he's far too aware not everyone has the tolerance for it ]
Did he? I've not the slightest clue what he got into besides getting into far too much trouble.
He kept going intangible! Like a blood fade spirit and three times more annoying to deal with. Andraste's bloody balls, I haven't contemplated that much murder since I was in Kirkwall.
[well it's obvious by how he tells it that it isn't happening, and she isn't exactly surprised by that. it's only... ]
I've been worried the pull of returning there would win out for him in the end. He seems to feel a large amount of guilt at abandoning it. Even though I think it is rather obvious he should not be there.
At least... if you killed him, I have to assume the situation was bad enough that there were few alternatives.
It was either that or letting the rest of Thedas hunt him down until they had their unsatisfying revenge. I refused for that to happen.
[ he also had like, three seconds to think about it but look, he did his best maybe ]
But I do agree it's for the best, perhaps, to find a new beginning. Our world has taken enough from him, and since we have the choice and so many more options.....
I understand. And it seems if he returned, the same problems would arise...
[she loves anders but she never felt like she could judge what happened before he died. what he did is something that scares her, but she isn't from that world.]
Why is it that you don't wish to return? If you don't mind my asking.
I.. both cannot nor do not want to. Being Champion, it is a weight you can't escape no matter how far you run. While I mave have tolerated the title once, I've grown weary of the expectations- especially after Kirkwall.
And now... having learned there's so much more out there.. Perhaps letting the Champion fade into obscurity is for the best. Wandering without wariness, and wondering if this was the day my magic would get me killed.
[ he pauses, a little sheepish ]
Maybe I just don't want to get shot in the arse by one of our friends either.

I couldn't even begin to explain my own explanations.
But- it was peaceful, for the most part. Brimstone certainly kept things lively the entire time.

Lively is one way to put it, seeing as he appeared to be bored enough to send cruel taunts back to us for no apparent reason.
[sorry she cannot stand that freak. she kind of has to judge that hawke tolerates him considering how specifically cruel he was to anders.]

[ and then some ]
Keeping him occupied was a five person job.

[contemplating murder.]
It’s a long time to be over there, for sure. Only weeks but it feels that so much changed in that time.

On purpose at least.
[ he rubs his now missing eye, like it aches. ]
If it weren't for the lasting evidence, I'd think the whole thing a blasted nightmare conjured up from the worst batch of elfroot I could find.

I had thought to invite him away- to the stars and whatever lays beyond.
[ but he clearly had other plans so ig it'll just be hawke's midlife crisis space tour instead ]

You make me sound like a an old man.

[ given how half the old men here are (relatively) immortal, this just makes it worse ]

I doubt the title of Champion would mean anything outside of Thedas.
